What is SSO Authentication?

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows your team to log into VIPER using their existing Microsoft or Google accounts, rather than managing separate passwords. As a Super User, you can enforce authentication policies, restrict access by email domain, and customise the login experience with your company branding.

How Does the Login Process Work?

VIPER uses an email-first authentication flow to provide a seamless, branded login experience:

1. You enter your email address

2. The system identifies your organisation

3. Your company's SSO policy is checked

4. Your company logo appears (if configured)

5. The appropriate authentication method is shown. This ensures you always see the correct login method for your organisation without having to guess or select the right option.

What Can You Configure?

Authentication Methods

Control how users log into your company's VIPER account:

  • Allow Any Method – Users choose Microsoft, Google, or Email/Password

  • Require Microsoft SSO – Only Microsoft authentication allowed

  • Require Google SSO – Only Google authentication allowed

  • Email/Password Only – Traditional login without SSO

Email Domain Restrictions

Restrict access to users with specific email domains (e.g., only @yourcompany.com). The Impact Preview shows exactly which users will be affected before you save.

Company Branding

Upload your company logo to personalise the login page for your users.

Scheduled Policy Changes

Set a future effective date to give users advance warning before new restrictions take effect.

See "How to Configure SSO Authentication Methods" for more in depth instructions.

Good to Know

  • Only Super Users can view and modify SSO settings

  • Operator-only users are automatically exempt from SSO policies

  • Admin Contact Email is required – this tells blocked users who to contact for help
