In VIPER, there are two Account Types - Users and Operators.

  • Users have the access to the main VIPER Metrics app as well as the VIPER Operator App. Their access to the modules within the VIPER Metrics app are determined by the Roles they are assigned.

  • Operators only have access to the VIPER Operator app to complete and submit inspections (like Pre-starts) and view Asset Defects.

Note: To add a new User you will need to have the "Edit Users" permission to create new users or the "Edit Operators" permission to create new Operators.

To add a new User or Operator, select the 'USERS' drop down.

Next, select 'USERS REGISTER'.

Select the '+ USER' button at the top right hand side.

Enter the user's details in all relevant text fields.

If the user will only require the operator app, ensure the 'Operator Access Only' tick box has been selected. This will disable the 'User Roles' option.

Next, select a role (if the option is enabled) for the new user by selecting the drop down button and select the relevant role.

To have an overview of each role, select the text 'VIEW ROLE TEMPLATES'.

All user roles will show. The 'Super User' is a user with all permissions selected. This Role is controlled by VIPER and should have limited use within a company.

TIP: This can also be viewed at any time by clicking on 'USER ROLES' in the 'USERS' section of main menu.

If a new role is required, please refer to the below article.

Next, select the projects the user will be linked to. This will filter which data they can see depending what is linked to that project.

If the user is going to be working on all projects, you can leave this blank.

To ensure the User is active, tick the check box next to 'User Enabled'. This is automatically ticked when creating a new User.

Complete all remaining relevant information for the User.

Once all information has been added, select the red tick box in the bottom right hand corner to save. This will generate an email to the User with a random password. Be sure to get the new User to check their spam / junk folder if they haven't received it in a few minutes.
