The following steps will detail how to link Xero Tracking with VIPER.

Note: You will require the "Edit EOM" User permissions.

Navigate to ‘Company Settings” on VIPER.

Select the following icon.

Xero Tracking Categories refer to the tracking categories created in Xero.

This can be found in Xero -> Accounting -> Advanced -> Tracking Categories

When creating an invoice in VIPER, each row can be linked to an invoice item, which maps directly to a Xero tracking category.

For example, a Hire Charge can be linked to the Hire Charge Tracking Category, while an Additional Charge such as Mobilisation can be linked to the Mobilisation tracking category.

The “Link Tracking To” refers to how the category is linked in Xero. Select the checkbox that applies to each category. Whenever an invoice line is created from VIPER with this Asset, it will apply the tracking category.

VIPER will automatically link the Asset to the Asset Tracking Category.

If the “Xero Tracking” column has “None Selected”, this means the Category option has not been created in Xero, or there is a spelling mismatch. It is recommended to check both.

Scroll to the bottom in VIPER and save changes.

Note: Linking Tracking Categories can take some time to process. Once you click Save, the linking will begin on the server, and you will receive an email notification when the process is complete.”
